When we started the free plans, we were hoping that they will be self-sufficient with the help of our ads. That was the initial plan, to provide you with a great file hosting experience at the price of zero dollars with the help of ad revenue, to keep it free for as long as we can. However, our losses are way too high. We were really trying to make this work.
Bandwidth consumption was in terabytes and the amount of downloads was barely touching a 100 weekly. Bandwidth usage is ridiculously expensive and this was harming us, considering our niche, as we are hosting offshore and running such a service does not come cheap. The ad revenue barely cashed 3 good American cents, and that is very, very low, but this isn’t surprising as almost everyone is using adblockers nowadays and that makes it very difficult for free services such as this to survive.
We regret to make this decision, but we are forced to pull out the free plans before the end of October 2018 (please make sure to backup your data).
